Informing and educating
There are a lot of uncertainty and lack of information about the etiologies of systemic diseases with ocular inflammation. We want this website and the bulletin board to become patients' and family information source.
Sending medicine to foreign countries
There are a lot of people around the world who suffer from the same sickness. However, there are people who do not receive satisfactory treatment, because the general treatment obtained in Japanese hospitals is very expensive and unavailable in some foreign countries. To help these patients, one of our goals is to send medicine to the countries in need.
Research promotion
More research into the etiologies and treatments of ocular inflammatory diseases is needed. Because of the large cost of research, we would like to offer an annual grant funded by donations to our NPO.
2000
May
The first international convention for patients with Behçet’s disease (Silk Road disease) was held in Hayama, Kanagawa, Japan and the ninth international meeting of the Society of Behçet’s disease was held in Seoul, Korea respectively.

The “Mainichi Braille” (Weekly magazine of braille) covered our activities.

Donation for sustaining our activities from “Soroptimist International-OITA MIDORI” was decided.
