Thank you for your comments which will improve our manuscript.
The referee requested to add discussion about the relationship between the potassium signal and changes in calcium concentration when baseline calcium shifts or the oscillations are very fast. In the Discussion (p5, l9), we tried to answer this.
Minor points:
1. The A23187 experiments should not be mentioned in the abstract . . . .
Deleted from the abstract.
2. There are several referencing problems.
Corrected (p3, p11, p8) .
3. It must be possible to asses the modulation of FCCP in a more quantitative way . . . .
The pattern of modulation is difficult to asses quantitatively. But we added quantitative data on the point in p6, l11.
4. . . change the title of the paper . . . .
We changed the title as you mentioned.
5. . . . should adapt the last line of the discussion . . . .
We modified the sentence according to the suggestion by the referee 2. We think this discussion is not so inadequate.
