The paper on "Title" that you kindly submitted for publication in the ** Journal has now been considered by an externai referee and a member of the Editorial Board. I regret to tell you that they were unable to recommend acceptance, for reasons given in the enclosed composite Editorial Report.

In essence, the reviewers considered that the data did not adequately support the conclusions drawn. In particular, they were critical of the assumptions made regarding specificity of the inhibitors used (point 1) and of the failure to consider alternative explanations for the results obtained (point 2) .

In view of these criticisms, I have to say that we cannot consider a revised version of this paper. I am sorry to give you disappointing news but it is clear that we can be of no further help on this occasion.
